Now that I'am half way through my development work, I started to think about which I prefer. Digital or traditional artwork. Honestly after looking through all of my work, I have to say I prefer digital, and this is simply because it looks a lot cleaner and more 'professional'. The only parts of my traditional art I really like are the pencil sketches and the pencil crayon drawing that I did for my environment concept.
I'm more likely to hate my artwork after making something traditional, but when I make something digital I always love the outcome. Not only is my digital presentation getting neater, but I'm slowing improving my own techniques over time, If I had the time too I would spend every hour of my days just doing digital artwork and mastering it. Even now I try fit in at least 10 hours minimum digital drawing a week. Its usually twice as much as that as well, I just enjoy it so much!
Traditional is where you have to make a start though. I imagine for those without traditonal experience it may take them longer to adapt to using the tablet. Its almost like rubbing your belly and patting your head, its hard at first but if you practice you'll only get better. I only really enjoy sketching traditionally, sometimes my digital sketches are more messy than the traditional ones oddly enough.
If I had to choose between digital or traditional, I would definitely pick digital, not just because of the things I mentioned before, but because it is also becoming more popular and higher in demand. Even with my personal artwork, I get more people asking for digital work than anything traditional and it seems to get a lot more attention than you think.
